Our B-25 medium bomber "In The Mood" took to the air May 17 following a presentation at the WestPac facility on the museum's campus at Colorado Springs Airport. It was about "Pappy" Gunn, an unlikely hero of the WW2 air war in the Pacific. The next presentation, slated for June 21, will be about the SB2C Helldiver. It too will fly, weather permitting. A Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat fighter, piloted by Steve Hinton Jr., visited the museum in March 2021. Hinton was flying the plane from Chino, Calif., where it was restored by Fighter Rebuilders LLC, to Granite Falls, Minn., home of Fagen Fighters, where it's being kept.
