The Washington Island Community Health Program seeks to empower and support Washington Island residents across generations to make informed choices for a successful, healthy, safe and independent lifestyle. WICHP establishes links between Island residents The Washington Island Community Health Program (WICHP) seeks to empower and support Island residents to make choices for successful aging, to maintain a safe and independent lifestyle and make informed decisions about their healthcare. WICHP staff provide information with options available to Island residents and assists with linking residents to services of their choice. These service are not otherwise provided on the Island. WICHP also connects with providers to bring services to the Island and connects Island residents with services off Island. Our organization serves Washington Island which is located 7 miles from the Door County Peninsula in Wisconsin and is surrounded by the waters of Lake Michigan & Green Bay. There are approximately 710 year round residents and Washington Island is accessible by car ferry or airplane only.
