I Have a Dream-Houston
Through education and mentoring, I Have a Dream - Houston inspires at-risk youths to dream and empowers them to believe in themselves and succeed. In 1988, IHAD was born when a group of Houstonians joined together to address the social and educational obstacles facing low-income, at-risk, inner-city children. They created the IHAD program model that we still use today whereby a group of 50 students (usually in elementary school) are invited to enter the IHAD program and become "Dreamers." We work with these student Dreamers for 10+ years -- through 12th grade and beyond -- to ensure they will realize their educational dreams.
