The Long Beach Museum of Art is a community-based organization that collects and cares for a permanent art collection, presents changing exhibitions in a variety of media and provides engaging educational programming for youth and adults. The Museum serves this mission by:• Preserving, conserving, and researching works of art in its collection;• Exhibiting, or otherwise providing direct access to, artwork in its collection;• Sharing historical, biographical, artistic, and cultural ideas and information that define and interpret the works in its collection and on exhibition;• Exhibiting artwork loaned by individuals and other institutions that provides context for, comparison with, and further exploration of important works in the Museum's collection;• Presenting educational programs that promote life-long learning, nourish creativity, and foster self-expression.
