Karuna Center works for peace that is real and sustainable: peace that is rooted in local communities. We partner with frontline peacebuilders to create and expand community-based initiatives, so that people directly impacted by conflict have avenues for developing and advocating peaceful solutions. We also reach out to engage key sectors of society, such as government, faith groups, schools, media, security forces, or even parties to armed conflicts. We work to bridge deep divides, with the primary goal of supporting local capacity to build long-term peace. We have partnered with local organizations in more than 35 countries since 1994.
