Nine Square Feet is a vibrant non-profit organization with the mission to share seeds, plants and produce in the Des Moines metro area and central Iowa. We promote sustainable, organic backyard food production while connecting gardeners of all experience levels through events, educational workshops and shared resources. Our goal is to tackle food insecurity and address food waste through a strong network of home gardeners, local food producers, and community groups. Since 2016, we have distributed more than 10,000 garden transplants, bare root nut trees and berry bushes. In addition, we've shared more than 20,000 packets of seed with our network of backyard food producers.
