#REPOST @7amleh 🎙️The fourth session at the Palestine Digital Activism Forum 2025: “The Digital Blockade – Economic Hardships and the Fight for Survival in Gaza” Prior to October 2023, the digital blockade on Gaza not only crippled economic opportunities but directly threatened the survival of millions. However, over the last year and a half, these impacts have only become more obvious and severe. In the United States alone, millions of dollars have been raised to support the survivors of genocide in Gaza, but many now have firsthand experience seeing how difficult it is for those funds to actually reach people in Gaza. This session will delve into the immense barriers Palestinians face in accessing international financial support, digital payment platforms, and global markets due to infrastructure destruction, internet restrictions, and targeted deplatforming. The session will also address corporate accountability, focusing on companies like PayPal, and its role in perpetuating economic hardship. Israel's genocidal attacks on Gaza continue and each day more precious lives are lost. We are sad and enraged by the news that our friend and colleague Muhammed al-Hour has been killed by an Israeli attack as he was on his way back to his family. He sustained an injury to his head by a shrapnel of an Israeli attack near by on 8 May 2025, and succumbed to his wounds the following day. Muhammed was working with one of our partner organisations and he was with us every step of the way in responding to people’s needs amid the ongoing monstrous genocide. (fb)
