Home The Southern California Committee for the Olympic Games Unique in the Olympic World is a civic organization grounded in one of the worlds great cities which has offered support for the Olympic Movement in good and in troubled times since 1939. This is the continuing legacy of the Southern California Committee for the Olympic Games or SCCOG The 2028 Olympic Host City In Lima Peru on September 13 2017 the International Olympic Committee IOC awarded the 2028 Olympic Games to Los Angeles. This was the reward of decades of hoping planning working and dreaming by Angelenos under the banner and leadership of the Southern California Committee for the Olympic Gamesthe Committee or SCCOG the only private local organization whose sole purpose is to bid for the Olympic Games and serve the Olympic Movement. As soon as the Olympic flame was extinguished in the Coliseums 1932 torch at the end of the Games on August 12 1984 some civic leaders began to think of a threepeat.
