The American Jobs Project

Founded by former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, and active from 2014-2019 to build America’s advanced energy future, one job at a time. The American Jobs Project, founded by former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, was active 2014-2019 to bolster the advanced energy economy. The American Jobs Project is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, think-and-do tank focused on creating good-paying jobs in advanced energy and manufacturing through bottom-up, data-driven, 360° economic development. We work alongside state and local leaders to equip them with tailored best practice strategies designed to increase global competitiveness and create good-paying advanced energy and manufacturing jobs statewide. We believe that sectoral shifts in energy and manufacturing present opportunities for state and local leaders to capitalize on growing markets, develop more resilient communities, and create good-paying jobs.

The American Jobs Project Creating Jobs in Advanced Energy What is the american jobs project. The American Jobs Project brings best practice policy models and innovative ideas from around the globe to local and state governments and stakeholders creating bottomup strategies that create goodpayingjobs in the advanced energy industry. Unlike a federal solution a statebased strategy can readily achieve broad political support if properly framed. In the states we work with we partner with academics at major universities and institutes as well as dozens of stakeholders in industry government and nonprofit sectors.
