Under a sunlit sky and a tent packed with the largest crowd in Seabury Hall history, we honored the 96 graduates of the Class of 2025. With 16 Golden Graduates in attendance and the tent filled wall-to-wall with proud families, friends, and faculty, the day was as beautiful as the students we celebrated. Head of School Mrs. Madden said it best: “It’s a beautiful day… for the best class ever.” Her speech, a poetic meditation on time, urged graduates to live fully and wisely: "I wish for you that you use your life—your time—to experience, to travel, to live well, to plan, to forgive, to hope, to love and be loved." And if time was the theme, our Valedictorian took it to the track. A champion runner himself, he compared high school to the 800-meter race—with each year as a 200-meter segment. Freshman year: an explosive, frantic start Sophomore year: finding your rhythm Junior year: the brutal backstretch—fatigue, AP classes, extracurricular overload Senior year: the final sprint—legs burning, heart pounding, the crowd on its feet It was a powerful metaphor, delivered with heart and honesty. Then came our Salutatorian, armed with stats and self-deprecating charm. “I’ve made approximately 45,000 bad jokes since sixth grade,” he admitted, “and today might add a few more.” But behind the humor came wisdom: "Seabury isn’t amazing because every moment is perfect—it’s amazing because it lets you be imperfect and still be fully accepted." Every graduate, all 96, had their moment to speak. In under two hours (yes, really), we heard 96 mini speeches...some funny, some tearful, all unforgettable. They reminded us that this class is not just smart or talented or hardworking. It’s real, full of individuals who know how to stumble, laugh it off, and keep moving forward. To the Class of 2025: You’ve set the bar high. You’ve shown us what grace under pressure looks like, what community feels like, and what it means to finish strong.
