How the brain handles the senses? Every second, your brain is taking in signals from your eyes, ears, skin, nose, and tongue. But it’s not just passively receiving them. It is working like an organized control room. This whole system is called sensory processing, and it’s how you understand and react to the world. At the center of this system are the sensory cortices, specific areas in your brain that each deal with a certain sense: ● The visual cortex processes what you see, ● The auditory cortex handles sounds, ● The somatosensory cortex deals with touch, pressure, pain, and temperature, ● And so on. Each of these areas has a cortical map, which is a kind of mental blueprint that helps the brain figure out where a sound came from, what kind of texture you’re feeling, or how far something is from you. These maps aren’t fixed, they shift depending on your experiences, age, and environment. That’s part of what makes the brain so adaptable. #KindTheory #SensoryProcessing #NeuroscienceMadeSimple #BrainFunction #Neurodiversity #HowTheBrainWorks #SensoryCortex #VisualCortex #AuditoryCortex #BrainScience #Neuroplasticity #BrainMap #UnderstandingTheBrain #NeuroscienceEducation #EveryBrainIsDifferent (fb)

Inertia is a neurological momentum! We’re taught that inertia means resistance to change. That an object in motion stays in motion, and one at rest stays at rest, unless something makes it move. But here’s the thing they don’t teach: inertia isn’t laziness. It's a memory. It’s the body remembering its state. The stillness it was used to. The movement it’s held onto. A neurodivergent brain carries its own kind of inertia. Not because it’s slow, or stubborn but because it takes time to shift states when your baseline isn’t built like everyone else’s. Starting a task is a neurological gear shift. One that might be missing oil. Or frictionless in the wrong places. So when someone “can’t just get up and do it,” it’s not because they don’t want to. It’s because the force required to break their state is higher than what the moment provides. And once they do get moving, momentum begins. They might hyperfocus. Lose track of time. Lock into motion so hard they can’t stop. That’s inertia too. The same law. Different context. It shouldn't be called resistance. It should be called regulation. And every brain has its own equation for that. #AutisticBrain #Neurodiversity #DefaultModeNetwork #AutismAcceptance #DifferentNotLess #PresumeCompetence #NeurodivergentThinking #UnderstandAutism #AutisticInsight #InvisibleDifferences #CognitiveDiversity #IntrospectiveMind #DeepThinkers (fb)

About the organization

About Us Kind Theory started as a simple idea making this world a kind place for neurodivergent people. It has now transformed into a nonprofit organization where a team of diligent and kind volunteers are working and striving hard to achieve our mission. Neurodiversity is natural. More than that its beautiful.
