Dominican University New York is hosting historians from around the world for the four-day International History Conference on WWII commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of the war. WWII veteran Arthur Grabiner was the honorary guest at 99 years old and is highly decorated including a US Congressional Gold Medal. The Keynote Speaker was Mateusz Sakowicz, Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York. The conference wraps up tomorrow. (fb)

Dominican University New York students and Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York were among those participating in last week's National College "Preaching in Action" Conference. The conference brings together students from across the nation to discuss social justice inititatives, ways of sharing the Gospel, and the tradition of the Dominican Order. There is also a service day. This year the conference happened to conveniently take place down the road at St. Thomas Aquinas College. (fb)
