PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS WITH THE BEST POSSIBLE COST EFFECTIVE FIRE PREVENTION, EDUCATION AND FIRE SUPPRESSION SERVICES FOR STRUCTURE AND WILDLANDS THROUGH THE EFFORTS OF VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS. IN ADDITION, ACT AS FIRST RESPONDERS FOR WILD LAND FIRES IN PRIVATELY HELD AREAS OF OURAY COUNTY, WHICH ARE NOT WITHIN THE DISTRICT'S BOUNDARIES AND SUPPORT ALL OTHER DISTRICTS WHEN THERE ARE MUTUAL AID AGREEMENTS
