For over 25 years, Athletic Orthopedics & Knee Center is recognized in Texas as a prominent leader i The mission of the Athletic Orthopedics & Research Foundation is to provide orthopedic medical care to injured youth in the greater Houston area who are either under insured or do not have coverage by health insurance. All services are provided by our team of doctors and medical professionals at The AOK Medical Center, including Athletic Orthopedics and Knee Center, Special Surgery of Houston, and AOK Emergency Room. AORF provides services to injured youth through its "Patient Fund," and supports valuable community initiatives through its "Community Fund."The primary purpose of the Patient Fund is to fund orthopedic medical research and to treat high school athletes who are headed to college on scholarship of financial assistance based on their athletic performance. We also serve others in need who, without our services, would not be able to return to their pre-injury life. We see all of our patients through to full recovery. The following costs are covered by donations:• Operating Room expenses• Emergency Room expensesAll other services are provided at NO cost to the patient: • Diagnostics• Clinical Office Visits• Physical Therapy• Rehabilitation• Orthopedic Braces and EquipmentThe Community Fund encourages participation in sports by providing low-cost physicals to local students, donating sporting equipment to community programs, and providing Community Health Awareness events throughout the year.
