Refugee Relief International, Inc. was founded in 1982 to address the need for medical care to sick and wounded in active combat areas where conventional relief agencies were barred from operating, where the danger was too great, or conditions too harsh. The all-volunteer organization recruits healthcare workers with experience in combat areas. Missions consist of small teams providing medical assistance and training in third world areas where there are no established medical facilities. Refugee Relief International also builds small medical facilities where emergency surgeries and treatments can be performed.
