Truth Aid

Truth Aids is a nonprofit organization focused on health and social innovation. It was born out of the experience of physicians working to prevent and treat HIV in the South Bronx who came to realize that conversations about HIV prevention had to start with love, trust, identity, abuse and support in order to make safe sex a reality. Their efforts to uncover this missing dialogue led to the creation of new strategies to teach about behavioral health. Truth Aids' mission is to empower vulnerable populations with the skills they need to create health-seeking behaviors and to provide access to services that improve public health outcomes. Approaching HIV prevention from this perspective presents an opportunity to expand preventative health in new ways and to create new models of service delivery. Through technical assistance, educational curriculum, D.I.Y. Health Toolkits, and Prevention Power training workshops, Truth Aids works with vulnerable communities, community-based organizations, educational institutions and health care providers to find practical solutions to complex population health challenges.
