EDGEWORKS Dance Theater (EDT) is the first all-male professional, contemporary dance company of predominately African American men based in our nation's capital. EDT aims to break down stereotypes through dance utilizing a spectrum of performance, choreographic and teaching styles, reflecting the diversity of experiences and perspectives of both its members and guests artists. Through its mission, EDT provides a variety of arts education services and programming. EDT's body of work showcases physical extremes that reveal both strength and vulnerability. Dynamic and diverse choreography push existing boundaries, challenge societal perceptions of male identity, and shatter these images with forceful, yet nuanced representations male complexities.
