It maintains certification with the American National Standards Institute ANSI to manage the development of domestic American standards in the Accredited Standards Committee for Optics ASC OP. It maintains another certification with ANSI to manage the American Technical Advisory Group to the Optics and Photonics Technical Committee of the International Standards Organization ANSIOEOSC TAG to ISO TC172.
