Background

The AIA was founded in 1857 and has since grown into a professional organization with over 300 chapters across the country and internationally. Each chapter, including Central Massachusetts, provides local support and resources to its members, aligning with the broader goals of the AIA.

Objectives

The Central Massachusetts Chapter focuses on several key objectives:

  • Networking and Professional Development: Providing opportunities for architects and designers to network, share ideas, and enhance their professional skills through educational programs and workshops.

  • Community Engagement: Engaging with local communities to promote the value of architecture and good design. This includes outreach initiatives and collaborations with local government and stakeholders.

  • Scholarships and Support: Offering scholarships to students pursuing architectural education, as well as resources and support for young professionals entering the field.

  • Advocacy: Advocating for the interests of architects and promoting policies that support sustainable and equitable built environments.
