Doing Whatever It Takes. Helping vulnerable children and their families develop skills to lead successful lives. Saving Lives, Changing Lives, Building Hope. Doing Whatever It Takes -- Saving Lives, Changing Lives, and Building Hope for children and families. Ettie Lee Youth & Family Services was founded over 65 years ago by Miss Ettie Lee, a Los Angeles high-school teacher who opened the first group home in America using a married couple as "parents". A pioneer in the field of child welfare, we have helped thousands of youngsters rebuild their lives, and heal the pain of abuse, abandonment and neglect. Our mission is to assist troubled youth who are in need of guidance and support to develop values and skills that will facilitate their success in life. We work with youth and their families throughout the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino.
