Jane Place a Neighborhood Sustainability InitiationI is a Community Land Trust (CLT) and housing rights organization committed to creating sustainable, democratic, and economically just neighborhoods and communities in New Orleans. Founded in 2008, we've worked to increase the range of affordable housing options available to low and moderate income residents and advocated for housing justice across the city. Their mission is to transform unjust housing policies, discriminatory practices, and inequitable development schemes by engaging in strategies that create permanently affordable housing, advance tenant rights, expand housing security, and uphold equitable housing patterns and land use planning.

Foundation for Louisiana

In 2009, a group of volunteers formed Propeller to respond to the community’s economic needs after Hurricane Katrina and a failed levee system inundated our houses and businesses. As a 501c3 nonprofit, Propeller supports entrepreneurs tackling social and environmental disparities. They provide expert technical assistance, business development workshops, and network-enhancing events that connect Black entrepreneurs to the capital, community, contracts, and connections needed to grow thriving and impactful enterprises.
