Shakehand Youth: Table Tennis for Youth in Vulnerable Communities We aim to • teach skills to achieve physical and mental health • foster a spirit of cooperation and fairness • mentor the children to respect themselves and others • provide an attractive alternative to joining a gang We do this by • securing safe spaces for people to gather in Haiti • supplying equipment • organizing, training and staffing venues for table tennis classes, leagues, and tournaments • introducing table tennis in existing schools, providing equipment and teaching or providing coaches

Home | Shakehand Youth Donate. Table Tennis for Haiti Shakehand Youth is a charitable organization 501c3 that aims to bring table tennis to underserved children in Haiti. Two thirds of Haitians live below the poverty line and many childrens lives are compromised by poor health care and education. The UN affirms that sport can contribute to peace and sustainable development and research shows that it can help young people overcome childhood traumas and improve mental health and wellbeing.
