Home - AMVETS Post 9-1-1 Welcome to AMVETS Post 911 originated on January 17 2017 and is home of Southwest Atlantas American Veterans for all of Americas Armed Forces. The national organization was founded on December 10 1944 and wasthe first World War II organization chartered by Congress. AMVETS MISSION STATEMENT To enhance and safeguard the entitlements for all American Veterans who have served honorably and to improve the quality of life for them their families and the communities where they live through leadership advocacy and services. AMVETS MEMBERSHIP Membership in AMVETS is open to anyone who is currently serving or who has honorably served in the U.
