Last week, students from various local schools, all members of The Leadership Center for Youth (TLC) Advisory Council, visited the Louisiana State Capitol as part of TLC’s civic engagement program. They met with legislators to discuss the importance of mental health and shared their perspectives on challenges facing their generation. We’re proud of these students for using their voices and stepping into leadership roles. Thank you to the lawmakers who took the time to meet and engage with them. The Leadership Center for Youth (TLC), a Division of Family & Youth, received a $20,000.00 donation to provide leadership development and career exploration opportunities to youth throughout Calcasieu Parish. By equipping youth with the skills necessary to succeed and fostering an understanding of the careers available to them, we can help them prepare for the workforce and to lead full, successful lives.
