Charitable organization to honor College Fire Victim David A Ortiz by providing co/Smoke Detection devices and small college scholarships/promo fire prevention The David A. Ortiz Foundation's mission is to educate young adults about fire prevention and escape. The David A. Ortiz Foundation's mission is to honor its namesake by educating young adults about fire prevention and escape. We provide Google Nest Protect devices to graduating seniors from David's high school and we provide a small scholarship to three individuals from that school to Texas State University where David was in attendance at his death. Our hope is to spread the educational tools as far as possible with the hope that lives will be saved and laws will be changed. We will continue to give out devices to as many students as we can, hopefully going beyond the small community where David was from.

Our History Our Mission Our Mission Our story begins in San Marcos Texas on July 2o 2018 with a very selfish act committed by persons unknown. The result was the death of five talented promising caring and giving individuals and the near loss of a sixth. David was one of the five the last one to be confirmed lost five days after the event.
