CATALINA MARINE SOCIETY The Catalina Marine Society musters professional and volunteer resources to study and understand the marine environment of Santa Catalina Island and the entire Southern California Bight in which she lies. The goals of the Society are to promote facilitate and distribute studies and insights into the physical and biological dynamics that both comprise the marine environment or that otherwise affect the underwater regions. OUR MISSION The mission of the Catalina Marine Society is to enlist and organize professional and volunteer resources to advance the scientific and ecological understanding and conservation of the marine environment of Santa Catalina Island and the Southern California Bight. OUR RESEARCH Volunteers for the Catalina Marine Society contribute to our understanding of the ocean off Los Angeles and surrounding Catalina.
