But without Dutch, that future felt out of reach. Karam didnโt start learning the language for himself.

Together, we went out to check in on people experiencing homelessnessโlistening to their stories, seeing how they were doing, and offering help where we could. The evening was relatively warm for this time of yearโbut as weโve learned time and again, warm evenings can still hold cold realities for those without a safe place to sleep.
