This week, we rallied on the steps of City Hall to demand $100 million in baseline funding for Community Food Connection—because millions of New Yorkers rely on this lifeline to access fresh, nutritious food. At a time when too many New Yorkers are struggling to afford basics and federal safety net programs face major setbacks, this investment ensures that our city’s food pantries can continue to meet record demand. Every dollar strengthens the health, stability, and economic resilience of our communities—and keeps our neighbors nourished with dignity. That’s why we’re grateful to NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, Councilman Justin Brannan, Deputy Speaker Diana Ayala, and the entire New York City Council for championing food equity by including $100 million in baseline funding for Community Food Connection in the Council’s budget response.
