DYSPHONIA INTERNATIONAL, FORMERLY THE NATIONAL SPASMODIC DYSPHONIA ASSOCIATION, IS DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF PEOPLE AFFECTED BY SPASMODIC DYSPHONIA AND RELATED VOICE CONDITIONS (VOCAL TREMOR, VOCAL FOLD PARALYSIS/PARESIS, MUSCLE TENSION DYSPHONIA) THROUGH RESEARCH, EDUCATION, AWARENESS, AND SUPPORT. OUR COMMUNITY IS COMPRISED OF VOLUNTEERS, HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS, FAMILIES, FRIENDS, AND STAFF, ALL DEDICATED TO THE VISION OF ERADICATING SPASMODIC DYSPHONIA AND RELATED VOICE CONDITIONS. WE FUND RESEARCH TO ADVANCE THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE CAUSES OF AND TREATMENTS FOR SPASMODIC DYSPHONIA AND RELATED VOICE CONDITIONS AND, EVENTUALLY, A CURE. WE EDUCATE TO HELP REDUCE THE TIME TO DIAGNOSIS. WE RAISE AWARENESS TO REDUCE THE ISOLATION AROUND HAVING A VOICE DISORDER. WE PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THOSE AFFECTED AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH SYMPOSIUMS, SUPPORT GROUPS, AND ONLINE RESOURCES SO THAT NO ONE FEELS ALONE.
