Last week, we celebrated the outstanding work of our 2024-25 Doyle W. Stephens research scholarship recipients, Mei Chen (BYU) and Sam Carter (University of Utah). Through hard work and dedication, they were able to bring forward new research regarding the effects of phragmites mitigation and groundwater inflow to the lake, respectively. Their work represents a year’s worth of careful and thorough research that contributes to a deeper understanding of the complexities of Great Salt Lake and will help lay the groundwork for more research in the future. We also announced our 2025 recipients, Georgia Morgan (U of U) and Alexander Atkinson (BYU).
