The Gift of Chess is a global movement, transforming lives through the universal language of chess. Our goal is to donate 1,000,000 chess sets globally by 2030. The Gift of Chess is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization transforming lives through the universal language of chess. We distribute chess sets globally, using chess as a low-cost, high-impact catalyst for change. Our key initiatives include educational, prison, global, and refugee outreach. The Gift of Chess initially launched in early 2021 as an effort to distribute 10,000 physical chess sets to public school students across New York City during the height of the pandemic. After a successful launch in NYC, we have now expanded to three other initiatives - global, prison, and elderly outreach - with the ultimate goal of distributing 1,000,000 chess sets by 2030. Leveraging a team of global volunteers our goal is to donate 1 million chess sets globally by 2030 reaching ever country in the world with 1000 chess sets. We are leveraging chess as a simple lowcost and universally recognized tool to expand opportunities and connect each of us across the world in meaningful ways. To date we have secured 132000 chess sets for distribution reaching over 35 countries.
