WELCOME TO THE HISTORIC ORCHARD AT ALTAPASS Opening May 10th Thank You Helene Recovery The mission of the Altapass Foundation Inc. is topreservethe history heritage and culture of the Blue Ridge Mountains protectthe underlying orchard land with its apples wetlands butterflies and other natural features andeducatethe public about the Appalachian experience. For over a quartercentury the Orchard as a nonprofit organization has diligently worked to save the good stuffregional traditions culture and land on which all was created. PRESERVE PROTECT As a preservation orchard with some trees nearly 100 years old and still producing we propagate the best heirloom apples possible with the least chemicals create a pollinatorfriendly environment and host activities for all ages that educate enlighten and entertain.
