Giving Back Faithfully የተሰጠንን እንሰጣለን Wonfel Aid is a Californian Based Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Wonfel “ወንፈል” is an Amharic term meaning “Turn to pay back”. Wonfel “ወንፈል” is a popular Ethiopian cultural practice that represents community participation with the goal of accomplishing a challenging task. Wonfel represents the act of giving back to the community. The founders of Wonfel used this name to promote the culture of giving back as well as to inspire and engage the Ethiopian diaspora to give back to the people of Ethiopia. The Ethiopian diaspora is equipped with knowledge, skills, work ethics and financial capability. Therefore, Wonfel would strive to mobilize and engage the Ethiopian diaspora to give back to its roots and support them in their fight against poverty.
