St. Luke's McCall celebrates its team of volunteers who donated nearly 1,400 hours in 2024. Every day, St. Luke’s hospital volunteers help us show our patients, their families and employees how much their community cares about them. The dedication of the McCall hospital volunteers was on full display at their annual appreciation luncheon to celebrate April as National Volunteer month. Volunteers in attendance were recognized for their gift of time and talents in supporting patients and employees. McCall has 33 active volunteers who gave 1,384 hours of their time in 2024. The program offers many different opportunities for volunteers to choose from, allowing them to find the best fit to meet their needs and passions. These opportunities include pet therapy, hospice support, caregiver respite, foot clinics, foundation support, emergency department support, surgical services recovery and chaplaincy. St. Luke’s McCall Chief Operating and Nursing Officer Amber Green shared her appreciation for the volunteers and the value they provide in serving our community’s health care needs. “You touch the lives of our patients and employees every day, and we’re happier because of you," Green said. Special recognition was given to Roz Campbell, who has been a hospital volunteer for 29 years and has donated more than 4,300 volunteer hours. She currently provides office support for the St. Luke’s McCall Foundation. When accepting his certificate, Tom Harris, who supports surgical patients in recovery, shared that he was thinking about what he wanted to do with his time after he retired. He read somewhere that the best thing one can do is to make oneself useful. “I found a way. The Women's Services team at St. Luke's Nampa was recently honored with a Patient Experience Award for its care of a patient. The spouse of the patient submitted the nomination below. “I felt like my wife was high priority and taken care of 24/7. You guys do beautiful things. Thank you. It’s not easy being the one people get mad at because they don’t know why mother and baby are crying. You brought our daughter into this world and saved my wife’s life. Thank you … so much!!
