Professional Achievers for Community Excellence

Professional Achievers for Community Excellence (PACE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing community excellence, spiritual growth, educational opportunities, and leadership. Founded in 1984 by two African-American women seeking to foster friendships and contribute to community service in the Dallas metroplex, PACE has evolved into a significant presence in the nonprofit sector.

Mission and Activities

PACE's primary mission is to promote education by providing scholarships to African-American females with financial needs who aspire to attend college. The organization awards several scholarships annually, with the goal of supporting students in pursuing their higher education goals. In addition to its scholarship program, PACE organizes various community events and projects, including the Scholarship Luncheon and the African American Read-In, aimed at promoting diversity, education, and community service.

Scholarship Program

The PACE scholarship program is designed to support graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll as full-time freshmen in accredited colleges or universities. Eligible applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate leadership through community service or extracurricular activities. Recipients are recognized at an annual Awards Luncheon, typically held in April.

Organizational Structure

PACE operates with a small team, reflecting its commitment to community-focused initiatives rather than large-scale operations. As a nonprofit organization, it relies on donations and contributions from supporters to fund its activities and scholarship awards.

Impact

By offering educational support and fostering a sense of community, Professional Achievers for Community Excellence seeks to make a positive impact on the lives of young African-American women, inspiring them to pursue their dreams and contribute to their communities. Through its events and scholarship programs, PACE underscores the importance of education and community service, reflecting its dedication to enhancing community excellence and spiritual growth.
