We're in the final days of the 'Help Me Hayley' Make-A-Splash Swimsuit Drive! We're ensuring every child in need has a swimsuit this summer. Donate new swimsuits at Triple Play Family Fun Park or Caruso's Sandwiches and Artisan Pizza. Let's make a splash! SPOKANE, Wash. — We are in the final days of our 'Help Me Hayley' Make-A-Splash Swimsuit Drive. The initiative is a partnership with the Spokane Parks Foundation and works to ensure every child in our community in need of a new swimsuit this summer can get one. The Spokane Parks Foundation is asking for new swimsuit donations for ages toddler to young adult. Swimsuits will be distributed before school is out for the year to local community resource centers, non-profits, and pools. Donations can be brought to Triple Play in Hayden or Caruso's on Division in Spokane through Memorial Day. Caruso's General Manager, Brystol Myers, says the effort is very near and dear to his heart. “As a kid, we grew up really poor," he said. "We didn’t know we were poor because our mom loved us really well, but we didn’t get to do some things other kids got to do and we felt that. One of those things was going to the public pool.... because we only had cut-offs (instead of swim trunks.)" That's why Myers says personally witnessing the community support for this swimsuit drive means so much. "It’s emotional for me, honestly...just being able to be a part of that and provide that joy…I know how they feel," he said. The Spokane Parks Foundation also takes financial donations for swim lesson scholarships and free water safety clinics.
