This is achieved by offering an increased level of excellence for students at American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake and Sacramento City colleges by funding student and faculty programs, facilities and activities. The Los Rios Foundation is an auxiliary foundation to the college district. Formed in 1978, it is a 501(c)(3) organization and has 30 board members who represent the community and the colleges. The college foundations are a part of the Los Rios Foundation: American River College Foundation, Sacramento City College Foundation, Cosumnes River College Foundation and Folsom Lake College Foundation. The Los Rios District and Colleges exist to change and improve lives in the Sacramento region by making quality college education and training accessible and affordable to all. The Los Rios Foundation provides the private support necessary to meet this quality of excellence.
