Partnering with people in under-resourced communities to build healthy, connected neighborhoods. KDI is a non-profit design and community development organization. We partner with under-resourced communities to advance equity and activate the unrealized potential in their neighborhoods and cities. We accomplish this mission through design, planning, research, and advocacy. All our projects start with the vision that residents have for their community. To realize this vision, we work collaboratively with residents from project conception through implementation. We build on local ideas, enhance them with technical knowledge and design innovation, and connect them to existing resources. Through this community-driven process, KDI helps residents physically transform their environment, grow economic resilience, and build social cohesion.
