The Michael Jackson Foundation funds scholarship awards in the brewing and distilling industries for candidates identifying as people of color (BIPOC). The foundation is named for the renowned beverage writer and critic Michael Jackson. THE MICHAEL JAMES JACKSON FOUNDATION IS A GRANT-MAKING ORGANIZATION THAT FUNDS SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS TO BLACK, INDIGENOUS, AND PEOPLE OF COLOR WITHIN THE BREWING AND DISTILLING TRADES. THE PROGRAM IS OPEN TO CANDIDATES AT THE BEGINNING OF THEIR CAREERS, AS WELL AS THOSE LOOKING TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION. THE MJF AWARDS PRESENT AN OPPORTUNITY FOR MEMBERS AND PATRONS OF THE BREWING AND DISTILLING INDUSTRIES TO DIRECTLY FUND A MORE JUST, EQUITABLE, AND DYNAMIC FUTURE.

WHAT WE DO The Michael James Jackson Foundation is a grantmaking organization dedicated to supporting Black Indigenous and People of Color in the brewing and distilling trades. Through its scholarship awards the foundation provides opportunities for individuals at the start of their careers as well as those pursuing advanced education and skill development. OUR IMPACT Since its establishment in 2020 the MJF has achieved remarkable successsending more people of color to the nations top brewing schools than the previous 150 years combined.
