Home (In Memoriam) - Arizona Friends Of Tibet IN MEMORIAM Peggy Mellon Hitchcock founder of Arizona Friends of Tibet and fearless advocate for Tibetan causes since the 1960s died April 9 2024 at age 90. Peggy was instrumental in bringing The Dalai Lama to Tucson for teachings in 1993 and 2005. AFOT has given well over 200000 in grants since its founding in 1991. Peggy remained deeply involved with AFOT until the last weeks of her life.
