IAVI welcomes news that the World Health Organization (WHO) Pandemic Accord was adopted by UN member states today at #WHA78. This treaty sets forth conditions for a more coordinated and equitable approach to global pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response (PPPR) following COVID-19. Among the treaty's many important provisions, we are especially pleased to see Article 9 call for sustained investment in and support of global R&D partnerships, including public-private partnerships, that center institutions in low-income countries with high disease burdens.
