Imagine a jetliner crashing every day, killing all 200 passengers on board. That is how many people die annually from hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). Research has shown that surfaces are fomites that support the acquisition and transmission of microbes that cause deadly diseases. There are no guidelines, standards, or requirements to validate that surfaces can be effectively and efficiently cleaned and disinfected. Our mission is to reduce preventable infections through the collaboration of industry, academia, science, regulatory, and service sectors by interrupting the transmission of surface-related pathogens in healthcare in support of community health.
