It's $5 Friday!!! The start of a special weekend! We have had another busy week. Let's catch up on a few dogs: Freddy if you all don't remember him was slated for euthanasia at our local shelter. Literally, we were the only inquiry and they called me at 3p one Saturday and I had until 6p to give a reply. We had zero room, no foster, low on funds, and I was not going to let him die so we took the leap and accepted this wonderful little snuggle bug. I reached out to Diana England of A Home 4 Spot for help: foster and some assist with funding. Like champion she is, Diana said, "Grab him and we'll figure it out" We "borrowed" a foster and we've shared some medical and now CMDR is covering his dental/allergy testing. This little man had fur loss, scabs, all over. He's missing chunks of his ears, bad teeth, long nails. He's had x-rays, antibiotics, great food, skin treatment, special baths, and soaks. Freddy has come a long way on his journey of his new life. Next up is Brownie who we now call Jack Jack. He arrived with a collar and chip to our local shelter scared to death, bad teeth, underweight and no one came for him. He ended up on the list he was so scared. Jack Jack is slowly coming out of his shell, wags his tail more, loves sleeping with his person, eating good now. He's ready for the next step of getting his dental which is scheduled. Lastly, we got a call from a local hospital a patient arrived with their dog. This tiny little thing who needed everything: groom, vaccines, chip, dental, spay, pain medication for a leg issue. Her mom is now homeless. We are taking care of Baby Dog until Mom gets on her paws and settled into a new home. She will be getting a dental and a spay.
