Ever reflect on the cultural displays of various people groups? How their lives and relationships and experiences are displayed upon their dress, asthetics and more? What if your military helmet showed more than readiness for combat? What if you peeled away the layers of paint and it revealed something of the person whom it protected? What if it exposed the trials, tears and journey to even come to this nation, then the journey to stand up and defend what it stands for and desires? What if it displayed the beauty and complexity of diversity in unity? Would it tell of the journey towards freedom, the journey to succeed and freedom to speak? Would it tell of the faithfulness of a family or parent that supported you? Would it tell of great sacrifive and struggle to become someone able to defend? Or what else? What would your helmet display? Join us in a workshop to express your own story on a helmet. Veterans, spouses andd family (i.e. adult children of military) welcome to come and create. Helmets are provided. Next workshop is June 14th at 1 PM. Being photos, fabric, and memorabilia or other items and materials that you wish to use. Paint and basic supplies is provided.
