Opera Theater Oregon Opera Theater Oregon New Sacajaweas Story Opera Scene Premiered by West Edge Opera in collaboration with OTO. On March 23 2024 West Edge Opera Opera Theater Oregon featured a new scene fromNu NahHup Sacajaweas Storyon their Snapshot concerts in Berkeley and San Francisco. The scene entitled Beeahpah Great Water depicting the January 1806 journey to see a monstrous fish or beached whale at present day Ecola Oregon a historic episode when Sacajawea traveled to the Pacific Ocean the first Shoshone woman to see the Ocean with William Clark and his black slave York and in the process searches for ways to continue being Shoshone away from her people and homeland. This concert marks the first coproduction collaboration in over ten years for OTO and is only the start as we expand our mission capacity and reach to develop create and produce new operatic work.
