Female ice hockey empowerment program. Ages 7-16 THE EMPOWERMENT EFFECT IS A NON-PROFIT MENTORSHIP INITIATIVE DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING YOUNG WOMEN AGED 7 TO 16, ENSURING INCLUSIVE ACCESS ACROSS ALL COMMUNITIES IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA. OUR MISSION IS TO ESTABLISH A SAFE ENVIRONMENT WHERE GIRLS CAN FEEL EMPOWERED, FOSTERING THEIR GROWTH AND CONFIDENCE AS THEY TRANSITION INTO ENGAGED YOUNG ADULTS. GUIDED BY STRONG AND PASSIONATE WOMEN FROM THE LOCAL ICE HOCKEY COMMUNITY, OUR PRIMARY GOAL IS TO IMPART VALUABLE LIFE LESSONS THROUGH THE SPORT OF ICE HOCKEY, ULTIMATELY CONTRIBUTING TO CREATING A MORE POSITIVE AND INCLUSIVE SOCIETY.

Empowerment Effect
The Empowerment Effect is a U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls through ice hockey. The organization uses the sport as a catalyst for personal growth and development, providing mentorship and support to young girls in the Southern California community.

The Empowerment Effect focuses on offering free equipment, coaching, and ice time to girls aged 7-16. Beyond the technical skills of hockey, the program aims to instill lifelong values and offer participants opportunities to explore various career paths and hobbies. She received the prestigious Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award in 2024, acknowledging her contributions to making hockey accessible and empowering for young girls. Rivas-Bryant's work has garnered national recognition, highlighting the impact of sports in community development.
