About the organization

- P01 -

Envisioning a political system that respects immigrant voices and is responsive to diverse community needs NYIC Action was founded in 2010 to ensure that immigrants have a seat at the table of the comprehensive immigration reform debate. We believe in the power of political and electoral organizing to turn immigrant communities into a potent political force in order to promote the rights and socioeconomic wellbeing of immigrants and refugees in New York State. In order to increase the political potency of the immigrant vote NYIC Action endorses candidates and elected officials who stand up for immigrant communities and against antiimmigrant opponents. NYIC Action engages in targeted advocacy on specific immigrantrelated issues such as legislative scorecards pointed advocacy flyers highlighting individual elected officials stances and intensive grassroots and direct lobbying of elected officials.
