Fifth and sixth grade Music Ensembles performed “America the Beautiful” and “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Wilmington Blue Rocks game. This special opportunity allowed our young musicians to share their talents with a larger audience. After months of dedicated rehearsals, members of the Band, Choir, and Orchestra delivered a successful and memorable performance. Ms. Tabakelis, Elementary Band Director, remarked, "All of our fifth and sixth-grade musicians delivered an outstanding performance! It was remarkable to witness their growth—from their initial introduction to the music to the confidence they gained through each rehearsal—culminating in a truly unforgettable moment at the baseball game." A student band member shared, "Initially, I felt anxious about performing in front of such a large crowd, but that anxiety transformed into enjoyment! Mr. Lockhart, a dedicated High School Teacher of American Literature and the Chair of the English Department, has been selected by the graduating class to deliver the Faculty Address at this year's graduation ceremony, as announced by Mrs. Rogai, High School Interim Principal. In expressing his gratitude and enthusiasm for this honor, Mr. Lockhart stated, "I am truly excited and humbled to be the speaker for the 2025 graduation. While I have had the privilege of teaching many of this year's graduates, I have also had the pleasure of engaging with many others in various settings—whether in the hallways, the cafeteria, or during school events. Their distinct personalities and active participation in both academic and extracurricular activities will undoubtedly make them exceptional contributors to the global community. I look forward to celebrating their achievements and sending them off into the next chapter of their lives."
