This week in Archives: We celebrate one of this year’s Jubilarians: Sister Anne Marie Murphy. She entered the IHM community in 1964, taking the religious name Felice. Her first mission was to teach English and journalism at her alma mater, Marian High School in Bloomfield Hills. Her ministries and activities since then have been diverse, with her main focus in nursing with a geriatric specialty. For more than 30 years, she has worked in hospitals, geriatric facilities, live-in group homes for the developmentally disabled, and the Motherhouse infirmary and assisted living area as a nurse practitioner. With master’s degrees in nursing and library science, she has made good use of both, sometimes on the same day. From 2008 through 2019, she often worked mornings in the Motherhouse clinic and afternoons in the congregation’s library. She continues as director of the Alphonsus Liguori Library in the Motherhouse. Sister Anne Marie also has served in the community’s vocation ministry, helping young women discern their calls to religious life. She is also a passionate advocate for Haiti, visiting the island nation five times. Sister Anne Marie is celebrating 60 years as a religious. Honor a jubilarian here: bit.ly/3HOnEuO. (fb)
