This post is to bring awareness to the fact that too many women die unnecessarily, not realizing until it's too late that they're actually experiencing something other than what is actually happening. We're not putting anyone's business in the street. This is to help someone. Our very own Ms. Fantabulous (Aleshia Moore) could have been one of the statistics. Fortunately, God had other plans for her life. Aleshia started having symptoms on a Monday, symptoms became more severe Tuesday more, still Aleshia pushed through determined to attend the OIC Black and White Ball that Friday. Everyone encouraged her to go to the hospital, thinking she had indigestion, and she pushed through day after day. Still drinking Mylanta and chewing Tums pushing through, ignoring the advice of coworkers, and office visitors, Aleshia refused to go to the ER. Thursday. Aleshia auditions for John Casablanca. On Friday morning, Aleshia attends a networking event. Finally, on Friday night, Aleshia attends the Black and White Ball. Thank God it turned out the way it did. Saturday, she finally had to go to the ER, still thinking it's indigestion, bit it was a heart attack, blood pressure was beyond stroke level. As women, we push through so much. We have to stop this. We're dying from something preventable. We tell ourselves we love ourselves, but it doesn't always show. Please share with every woman you know. (fb)
